The Taipei City Cultural Bureau launched the MRT Soundscape project in 2015. In train stations a distinctive melody plays to announce when a train enters a station, and a piano melody plays when the doors are open as passengers enter and exit a carriage. This allows passengers to experience the uniqueness of Taipei MRT through sound.
